The TGLTG180 combines a solid tongue and groove lower section with a small lattice panel at the top, adding visual detail while maintaining privacy below.

The rebated framework and mortice and tenon construction provide added strength, while the smooth planed finish gives the gate a more refined European appearance

Overlap Gates

European Gates

European gates feature smooth planed timber and traditional mortice and tenon joinery. Choosing the Right Gate Height

What is a 3ft high gate typically used for?

A 3ft (approximately 900mm) gate is commonly used for garden entrances, pathways, decking areas, and decorative boundary separation. Lower height gates allow more light and visibility while still defining access points. They are often chosen for front gardens or internal garden sections where full privacy is not required.

When should I choose a 6ft high gate?

A 6ft (approximately 1800mm) gate is typically selected where privacy and security are priorities. Taller gates are ideal for side access, rear garden boundaries, and areas where screening from neighbouring properties is important.

Does a taller gate provide more wind resistance?

Are lower gates less secure?

Woodcare

Timber Movement/Shrinkage

Wood is a natural product and over time with extreme weather of rain and sun the wood will contract and expand. This is not failure of the wood. Small splits, cracks and knots can be wood filled where needed.

Wood may also move after installation which can cause issues but is completely unavoidable and is a result of being a natural product and is not a failing.

Wood Aftercare

All wood requires treatment to protect against the elements. This must be done within 3 months of the timber being installed and annually thereafter.

Cutting Service

We offer an in house cutting service if you need timber cutting to specific sizes.

However, during our busy seasons (spring/summer) our team is very busy. You may be required to leave your contact information to receive a call when this is ready to collect.

Please bear in mind when requesting cut lengths of timber. That you need to allow for the cutting blades tolerance as this will impact the overall length of the timber.

Please be aware that all of our timber is purchased in metric lengths. We round to the nearest foot measurement. This may create a slight discrepancy when having things cut to size. Please bear this in mind when requesting cut lengths of timber.
