Felt Upgrade
We offer a shed roofing felt upgrade option.
Our standard roofing felt is included in your timber building price and comes with a 6 month warranty, this felt is a fibre based and may crease over time.
Our Premium upgraded roofing felt comes with a 9 month warranty and is a charcoal mineral felt with a film faced reverse, making the felt harder wearing and less likely to crease.
Our premium felt upgrade can last up to 5 years!
Cladding Options
Shiplap or Log lap, which is the right one for you?
16mm Loglap is our Premium cladding option.
Loglap cladding features interlocking tongue and groove boards, with a curved finish. This provides the aesthetic appeal of a traditional log cabin. At its thickest point, loglap cladding is generally thicker than standard shiplap.
12mm Shiplap is our standard cladding option.
Shiplap cladding features interlocking tongue and groove boards, with a slight profile to enable water run-off.
Shiplap cladding is usually thicker and better quality than overlap.
We also offer a New Premium
option which is our 20mm Rustic cladding option, see our sample board for this.
Shed Treatment
Treatment is important to maintain the appearance and structural integrity of a wooden shed.
Dip Treated
Dip-treated timber is orange in colour and contains around 9-10% moisture after treatment.
Dip- treated timber is submerged in a bath of a protective preservative before being left to dry. Please note that dip treated timber will lose its colouring over time and its ability to battle the elements will also fade.
Pressure Treated
Pressure-treated timber has a green tinge in colour and
contains around 60% moisture after treatment.
Due to the high levels of moisture retained in the timber, this type of treatment can create more condensation and
movement within your timber building & boards.
Pressure treatment penetrates deeply into the wood before being left to dry. Pressure-treated timber is more
expensive, but the wood will generally last longer. If a piece of timber is tanalised, it means that it is highly resistant to fungus and infestations.
It is strongly recommended to re-treat all wood shortly after installation, and annually thereafter to ensure the longest possible life.
We offer a full installation service on all our sheds and summerhouses within a 20 Mile Radius of Bingley Fencing.
Our fee includes bringing the shed to site, assembly and installation.
The site must be level and clear prior to our arrival - please see more detail in Pre-Sale Advisory
Do I Have a Suitable Shed Base?
All garden sheds must
sit on a firm and level base of adequate size. A level base will maximise your
timber buildings life span.
We offer a timber shed base
installation service if you do not have an existing appropriate base in place.
While the ground beneath
the base may sloped, the base itself must be perfectly level.
Bases are typically
built from concrete, paving slabs or timber. A correctly assembled base will
prolong the life of your garden building.
Floor Bearers
We strongly recommend
the use of floor bearers. Floor bearers are tanalised timber sections that are
placed between your base and timber building floor.
They are designed to
considerably extend the life of your timber building by preventing rising damp
from your flagged or concrete base area, allowing air circulation. Bearers also
offer stability and strength to your timber building, it is highly recommended
to add bearers when installing a large timber building.
We offer a timber bearer
upgrade option for all timber building being installed onto a concrete or flagged area.
Suitable timber building base options
Bases are typically built from level concrete, paving slabs or timber bearers, and a correctly assembled base will prolong the life of your garden building.
All garden timber buildings must sit on a firm and level base of adequate size.
We do not recommend having a shed/ timber building installed directly onto soil, grass, or gravel.
We offer a timber shed base installation service if you do not have an existing appropriate base in place.
** Please note at the point of purchase, if the customer has advised a level/ suitable base is in situ and this is not the case when our fitting team arrive to install the timber building a fee of £25.00 Including Vat will be charged.
This will delay the installation of your shed until a suitable base is laid or payment is made for for a Bingley Fencing timber base.
**Please note that a fee of £25.00 Including Vat will be charged if our fitting team attends site and are unable to access the installation area.
This will delay the installation of your timber building. Large timber building panels are manually carried from vehicle to installation point – if there is restricted access, we must be made aware of this prior to installation.
** Bingley Fencing can only advise on a suitable/ level base option, and it is at the discretion of the customer if they chose not to supply or purchase a suitable/ level base option.
Warranty is only valid on Sheds/ Timber buildings installed on advised level bases. Any Sheds/ Timber buildings installed on unlevel bases or directly onto grass, soil or gravel will be void of any warranty.
Timber Building Treatment Options-
** It is strongly recommended to re-treat the wood before or shortly after installation, and annually thereafter to ensure the longest possible life.
Dipped-
Appears orange in colour. And has on average a 9-10% moisture content after treatment.
Dip-treated timber is submerged in a bath of a protective preservative before being left to dry. It is worth bearing in mind, however, that dip treated timber will lose its colouring over time and its ability to battle the elements will also fade.
Tanalised –
Appears slightly green in colour but retains more of the natural timber colouring. And has on average a 60% moisture content after treatment.
Due to its high moisture content & penetrative treatment method, tanalised treated timber buildings tend to incur more condensation and expansion than dip treated timber buildings.
Pressure-treated timber is submerged in a preservative under high pressure, causing it to penetrate deeply into the wood before being left to dry. Pressure-treated timber is more expensive, but the wood will generally last longer. If a piece of timber is tanalised, it means that it is highly resistant to fungus and infestations. Tanalised timber tends to last longer than dip-treated timber.
Warranty periods-
Our standard roofing felt comes with a 6-month warranty, Premium roofing felt upgrade has a 9-month warranty and the timber building is covered by a 12-month warranty.
Ex-display and B-grade timber buildings & sheds are not covered by any warranty after purchase.
Any & All modifications made to the timber building/ shed by the customer (or a third party that is not Bingley Fencing) will void any warranty.

Aftercare
We strongly recommend that all customers cover all garden buildings on their home/ contents insurance policy after point of installation.
It is highly recommended to re-treat the wood before or shortly after installation.
To maintain your warranty, you must treat your timber building annually, with a Bingley fencing recommended treatment, in order to ensure the longest possible life of your timber building.
Warranty
Warranty is only valid on Sheds/ Timber buildings installed on pre-advised level bases.
Any Sheds/ Timber buildings installed on unlevel bases or directly onto grass,
soil or gravel will be void of any warranty. This includes any shed/ timber buildings installed by Bingley fencing where the customer has advised us to install onto a base that we have not recommended as suitable.
Our standard roofing felt comes with a 6-month warranty, Premium roofing felt
upgrade has a 9-month warranty and the timber building is covered by a 12-month warranty.
Ex-display and ‘B-grade’ timber buildings & sheds are not covered by any
warranty after purchase.
Any & All modifications made to the timber building/ shed by the customer (or a third
party that is not Bingley Fencing) will void any warranty.
Any/ All damage or issues caused by adverse weather are not covered by your warranty.
Your warranty does not cover any issues resulting from the natural movement of timber, including, but not limited to,
knot holes, cracks, splits, twists and movement from the expansion and contraction of the timbers. As timber is a natural product all these things are to be expected with the change in seasons and weather conditions. Any
alterations you may require because of this will be chargeable.
Treated timbers do contain moisture as stated in your pre- sale advisory document, due to the addition of moisture at point
of treatment you may find your timber building has some condensation or internal moisture. This can be reduced with the addition of air vents or
opening windows and doors to create airflow.
Any alterations you may require due to of any of the above mentioned will be chargeable.
